| Job Title: Girls Field Hockey Coach |

Position Summary: The GEPD field hockey program is looking for more qualified field hockey instructors as our youth program continues to grow. We are looking for people who are passionate about the sport of field hockey and are willing to help teach the game to the Glen Ellyn community.
Duties include:
- Running skills/drills practice days for up to 70 girls along with other coaches
- Acting as a referee during the scrimmages and games
- Setting up both indoor and outdoor fields
- Assist the program director with day to day duties as needed
- Effectively communicate with participants and parents
- Provide leadership and act as role model for the girls in the program

| Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age. Must be able to work Thursday evenings for skills days and Sunday afternoons for game days. Some playing experience and familiarity with the rules of the game is preferred. Previous coaching or teaching experience is also a plus. |
| Hours: Program meets on Thursday evenings (6pm-8pm) and Sunday afternoons (4pm-6pm). The program runs in the winter, spring, and fall each year. |

JOB TITLE: Art Instructor

SUMMARY: The art instructor will create two or three 4-6 week art programs per season. The art instructor is responsible for creating the programs and teaching the program to children aged 2-12. The instructor is also responsible for ordering art supplies as needed. |
DUTIES:
- Teach children art techniques based on the specific program
- Communicate effectively with the supervisor
- Order art supplies while staying within the budget
- Administers first aid, as necessary
- Prepares necessary forms and reports
- Maintains a clean center
- Staff should wear appropriate apparel (staff shirt)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Effectively communicate with participants and parents
- Set-up and take down equipment

Job Title: Dance Instructor

Pay Range: $15-$22/hour (depending on qualifications)

Summary: The Dance Instructor is responsible for the planning and teaching of instructional dance classes for students.
|
Qualification and Skills:
- Must be 16 years old.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two to three years experience in working with children in a fun learning environment.
- Must have formal instruction in the dance field as well as knowledge of various forms of dance and teaching techniques.
- Must be self-motivated and responsible.
- Ability to follow directions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to teach a variety of levels in a group setting.
- Ability to deal with residents, staff and job responsibilities under stressful conditions.
- Ability to control children within a classroom setting.
- Must be able to respond to and handle children’s behaviors in a positive appropriate manner.
- CPR/First Aid certification, preferred.

Duties:
- Develops skill appropriate lesson plans that follow a logical progression throughout the session.
- Provide participants with general information regarding the expectations and format of the classes.
- Provide a fun and safe environment to learn the essentials of various types of dance.
- Updates class attendance sheets every day classes meet.
- Responsible for the choreography, costuming and overall production of the dance recitals.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment including dance rooms and storage.
- Responsible for the choice of music and dance.
- Demonstrate the dance moves and choreography.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with subordinates, co-workers and the general public.
- Participates at required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Wears appropriate attire during working hours.
- Carry out the directions of the Recreation Supervisor.
- Treats public complaints and concerns with the utmost attention. Is courteous in all cases.
- May perform other duties as necessary.

Safety Responsibilities:
Actively supports the Safety Policy and related programs including following/enforcing safety rules, reporting accidents and injuries, and developing ideas for the prevention of future incidents. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintains a working knowledge of all general and departmental-specific safety rules.
- Immediately reports all accidents and unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the supervisor.
- Cooperates and assists in the investigation of accidents.
- Take corrective action for any unsafe condition that is observed which could adversely affect the safety of an employee, volunteer or program participant.
- Avoid engaging in any horseplay and refrain from distracting others and keep children from doing the same.
- Continually observe and evaluate work conditions and work procedures to detect and correct unsafe conditions and practices.
- Keep work area clean and orderly at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities: The gymnastic staff will enforce the departmental rules and regulations regarding the Gymnastics Center. Special attention must be given to the safety of the participants at all times, while allowing maximum satisfaction in the experience of gymnastics. Perform the job safely and in compliance with the Park District safety rules, policies, and procedures. Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions observed by your Supervisor.
Duties include:
- Teach child and youth gymnastics classes, i.e., preschool, beginner, intermediate, advanced, tumbling and cheerleading tumbling
- Set up programs and schedules in gymnastics

| Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age. Must be able to work day and evening hours. Some work experience and preferable completion of four years of high school, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience teaching various levels and age groups is desirable. |
| Hours: Gymnastic classes run Monday-Saturday. As needed for classes-class times range from 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. |
| Pay Range: $8.50-$12 per hour (depending on qualifications) |
