Ice Skating Update | 2/10/16 at 2pm
The hockey rink (east rink) at Newton Park is now open for skating! The warmer temperatures have made skating at Lake Ellyn, Lake Foxcroft and the ice skating rink (west rink) at Newton Park unsafe. These locations are now closed for skating. For the most up-to-date ice conditions, please check the Park District weather hotline by clicking here.

Park District Announces Board Vacancy
Glen Ellyn Park District Board Commissioner Gary Mayo has announced his intention to move outside the Glen Ellyn Park District boundaries within the next few months. In anticipation of Commissioner Mayo’s departure, the Glen Ellyn Park District will be seeking candidates to serve as Park District Commissioner for approximately one year until the next Park District Commissioner election which will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

As part of the process to fill the vacancy, the Glen Ellyn Park District will accept applications of interested candidates through February 22, 2016 by 8:00 p.m.

Glen Ellyn Park District Goes
Tobacco Free at All Parks & Facilities

The Glen Ellyn Park District Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to pass an ordinance making all its property and parks smoke free, tobacco free, and e-cigarette free effective in spring, 2016. The move expands a ban on smoking that has been in effect since 2004.
