4th of July Holiday Hours
The Glen Ellyn Park District will observe the following hours on Monday, July 4:

  • Spring Avenue Recreation Center: Closed
  • Main Street Recreation Center: Closed
  • Ackerman SFC: 7am-1pm
  • Holes & Knolls Mini Golf: 10am-5pm
  • Splash Park: 10am-5pm
  • Sunset Pool: 12pm-5pm

Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta on July 2
Your challenge is to build a boat made entirely of cardboard and paddle a designated course around Lake Ellyn. Your boat must arrive intact and with all crew members onboard at the finish line. Winners will be determined by fastest race times! Registration Deadline: Friday, July 1 at 12pm.

Freedom Four™ 4-Mile Run on July 4th
Join the biggest event of the running season and help the Park District raise money for scholarships. Register on the morning of the race from 6am-7:30am for just $30! The star-spangled run starts off on Lenox Road next to Lake Ellyn at 8am "sharp" on Monday, July 4. Learn More

Summer Spikeball Tournament
Join us for our inaugural Spikeball Tournament, run by Serve City Athletics! Teams of 2 will compete for cash prizes. There will be a youth division for players ages 14 -17 and an adult's division 18+. Just $20 for residents; $30 for non-residents. Register Today

Lake Ellyn Park - Phase III Update
The construction fence has been taken down at Lake Ellyn Park! While the park is open to the public and will be used for the Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta, Afternoon Festivities, and the 4th of July fireworks, the Park District requests that patrons respect the continued efforts to complete the project. There will be areas of the park that requires turf restoration and if those locations could be avoided, it would be appreciated. As a reminder, the public restrooms and water fountain are now located near the playground. Learn More

Tennis Lessons at the Glen Ellyn Park District
Registration is open for summer tennis lessons and camps! Come out and enjoy the perfect environment to learn the game of tennis. Lessons will focus on racquet skills, athletic development and an understanding of the game while having FUN. All lessons are held outdoors at beautiful Sunset Park or Memorial Park.

"Trails & Trivia: Bird Edition" Challenge
Kids can connect with nature this summer by participating in the 2nd annual Trails & Trivia Challenge. This year, participants will learn all about our feathered friends while answering a few trivia questions in eight of our community parks. One lucky winner will receive a $100 Park District gift certificate!
