Tween Night at Ackerman SFC on August 26
Kids ages 8-12 will enjoy basketball, volleyball, soccer, dodgeball and more from 6:30pm-10pm at Ackerman SFC. Be sure to bring money for snacks! Parents must accompany their children for check-in and check-out. Just $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Register

Beat the heat at Sunset Pool! Click here to view our extended hours for the first two weeks of August. Sunset Pool will close for the season on Monday, Sept. 5th.

Trails & Trivia Challenge Ends August 26!
Kids can connect with nature this summer by participating in the 2nd annual Trails & Trivia Challenge. This year, participants will learn all about our feathered friends while answering a few trivia questions in eight of our community parks. One lucky winner will receive a $100 Park District gift certificate!

Free Guided Bird Walk | September 12
Join expert birder Denis Kania on a guided walk at Churchill Park. Birds are on the migration move this time of the year. Mr. Kania teaches ornithology classes at the Morton Arboretum, organizes local hikes and surveys, and leads guided international bird trips. Free to attend, but registration required. Time: 8am-10am at Churchill Park

Glen Ellyn Park District Strategic Planning Outcome Results in Lower Taxes
On Tuesday, July 19th, the Glen Ellyn Park District Board voted to allow the referendum debt that funded the majority of the expenses to construct the Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center to retire. As a result of the unanimous vote, residents of the Park District will realize, on average, an estimated 7.5% reduction on their 2016 tax bill (payable in 2017) and an approximate savings of 27.5% on their 2017 tax bills (payable in 2018).
